Since ancient times every part of the strawberry plant has been used to improve health in some way!
Fresh strawberries are high in vitamin C, fiber, potassium, folate, and manganese and scientists are beginning to learn how they play an important role in fighting some types of cancer.
If you crush up the red flesh of a strawberry you can smear it on your skin to sooth a sunburn or whiten teeth if you mix it with a 1/2 tsp of baking soda!
Strawberries are a very versatile fruit that can be enjoyed in a multitude of ways, one of those ways is as a delicious tea.

Strawberry Sun Tea
To a clear 2 quart container, add 3-4 of your favorite regular tea bags, 5 large strawberries, washed and sliced, and enough water to fill up the container 2″ from the top. Close or cover the opening of the container, and put it outside in the sun or in a sunny location for 4 hours.
Once the 4 hours are up, fill a glass with ice and your favorite sweetener (if you use any), a lemon wedge and enjoy.
Add strawberries to hot tea
Slice up a strawberry or two and add it to a cup of your favorite hot tea. Sweeten and add milk or cream as you normally would.
Strawberry Hull Tea
The hull of the strawberry is the leafy green part that is usually discarded, but surprisingly enough, it can be used to make tea. The leaves can be used fresh or dried and some of the top of the strawberry can be used as well.
To make this tea, place 10 hulls into a cup and pour 1 cup of boiling water over them. Allow them to sit for a 5 minutes or so, then strain the hulls or pull them out with a fork, add a teaspoon or so of your favorite sweetener and a little milk or cream and enjoy! Makes 1 cup.
