Solitaire Challenge #1 Peg Solitaire


Peg Solitaire has been around for hundreds of years and with good reason, it is an addictively fun puzzle-game to play!
You can make your own board if you don’t have one, and if you visit the link below, you’ll be able to play a version on line. Check your favorite app store for a version as well. 

For this activity, you will need: A downloadable board (available in link), pennies, cereal, bingo chips, etc., and time

Betty Jo, of Still Learning Something New, has posted an updated version of the July 2018 Special Days Calendar and the newest version of August’s Calendar is available as well. They have a long list of famous birthdays, historical events, interesting days, monthly event and food themes, and more.

Here are a few of the things on her list and some helpful activities and links:

Did you know that August is “Family Fun” month? Plan to do as many fun things as a family as possible.

🚀July 29: NASA established 1958 – Learn about NASA! Watch a documentary about why we explore space.

July 30: 
Inventor Henry Ford born 1863 – Take some time to learn about the Model T and Henry Ford. Find an antique car museum in your area to visit too.


July 31: Raspberry Cake Day –
Make an 
Easy Lemon Raspberry Cake from scratch. 

August 1: Spiderman Day – Learn about Spiderman and do some of the cool activities available in this post. 

August 2: Engineer Pierre Charles L’Enfant born 1754 – Learn interesting facts about L’Enfant.


August 3Watermelon Day – Have some fun carving watermelons or looking through an amazing picture gallery of carvings, make some delicious watermelon foods, and learn about these juicy gourds!
