SS/H/G Skills

Real-World

Social Studies, History & Geography Skills

Learning about people, places, landforms, communities, cultures, foods, climates, weather, wars, events, time periods, etc. is a lot more interesting when you use living books, biographies and autobiographies, watch videos, talk to people, listen to stories, go to reenactments, experiment, experience things for yourself, and use open-ended resources to gain information.

There are so many awesome things to learn about under these subjects that it can be really hard to decide where to begin, but we’ve found that an interest-driven, project-based approach to learning about the topics covered in this category is a really good way to enjoy them.

These subjects are vast, but to separate them may not always be for the best because they tend to fall in together and mix with other subjects.

The following topics can be found within this site, but if you have a topic you would like to see covered by using a real-world learning approach, please leave me a comment and I’ll see what I can do to help you out.
